John Romero’s Studio Is Hiring for All Positions for His Next FPS Game

Romero Games Ltd. has just put out the call for all disciplines and skill levels—emphasis on Unreal Engine 5 experience—to work on a new John Romero FPS for an unnamed major publisher. Here’s what we know.

@RomeroGamesLtd just Tweeted the graphic attached to this post announcing its intention to expand, calling for “talented people for all positions and at all skill levels, particularly those with Unreal Engine 5 experience.”

RomeroGames.com presently offers a lot of interesting information about what they’re specifically seeking at this time as well as what it’s like to work for the company. Romero Games is the studio home of both John Romero and award-winning developer Brenda Romero and is located in Galway, Ireland. The studio supports onsite work, full remote, and hybrid options.

The Careers page indeed lists a handful of positions across the Code, Art, and Design disciplines and promises more are coming soon. Each position lists very clear requirements, responsibilities, and preferences.

Romero Games does not appear to be shy with employee benefits, offering team members studio ownership stake, four weeks vacation per hear plus holidays, bonus weeks based on employment duration, sabbatical options at 5+ years, health benefits, fertility leave, relocation assistance, and much more.

The Romero Games FAQ says that, while proof of ability is a requirement to join the team, a college degree is not.

Not much additional info has been released about the planned FPS or its publisher.
